2408 Release notes

Released on: August 31, 2024 (Fast prod environment)

1. Improved admin control for impersonated organizations

In the previous admin panel, admins could connect users to Mail services or CRM within the RG UI for impersonated organizations without end-user involvement. However, this option was temporarily unavailable in the new admin panel.

Now, we’ve restored and enhanced this feature, allowing you to connect impersonated users directly to Mail services and CRM without requiring end-user involvement. Simply go to the impersonated user's Connectivity page and edit their Email, Salesforce Email, and Salesforce ID on the Email and CRM Configuration Cards accordingly.

2. Support for Salesforce Contacts to Multiple Accounts

The RG Email Sidebar now fully supports Salesforce's Contacts to Multiple Accounts feature, improving how related contacts and accounts are displayed and managed.

Key improvements:

  • The Account-Contact Relationship object is now available in the Sidebar Customization, mirroring the fields in Salesforce.
  • The Sidebar displays "Related Contacts" and "Related Accounts" in the Related tab for selected objects.
  • You can now create and update relations between objects in the Sidebar, with changes syncing seamlessly with Salesforce.

This update enhances usability and ensures accurate interaction with related objects, improving consistency between the Sidebar and Salesforce.

3. Enhanced internal contacts initial search

We implemented the ability to include records with your own email address in the initial search results. Previously, the user's own email was filtered out during the initial search.

To enable this setting:

  1. Go to the Customization page > Other settings.
  2. In the Application settings section, under the Include internal emails into search results option, select Include own email.
  3. Click Save to apply the changes.

The Include own email option is available only when the Include internal emails into search setting is enabled. For more information, see Application Settings in Sidebar Customization.

2407 Release notes

Released on: July 27, 2024 (Fast prod environment)

Save event attachments as Content Documents

Previously, event attachments could only be saved to Salesforce as Attachment objects and were linked solely to created Event objects.

Now, you can save an event attachment as a Content Document. It will be saved to Salesforce as a separate file, directly linked to:

  • The Event or Email object
  • The Event or Email owner
  • Other objects you manually selected via the Sidebar or automatically selected by the Server Sync according to your sync settings.

This method of saving attachments prevents file duplication in Salesforce storage and optimizes file management, making it the preferred method.

For more information about saving event attachments, see Attached Files Handling Mechanisms.

2405 Release notes

Released on: June 1, 2024 (Fast prod environment)

2405 New features and improvements

1. Improved Content Document synchronization via Server Sync

Previously, Content Document attachments could only be linked to Salesforce Contact (WhoId) via the Sidebar. Now, synchronization is available via Server Sync as well. For more information about the attachments synchronization, see Attached Files Handling Mechanisms.

2. Warning pop-up messages update

Previously, when the customization of the search availability differed between Salesforce and the Sidebar, users received the message "Something went wrong, restart Revenue Grid." It provided few details about the issue.

We have changed the message format, and it now includes the error ID and a textual description of the problem, allowing for better understanding and troubleshooting.

Warning pop-up before
Warning pop-up after

3. Disregard organizer's calendar option in Time slots

Previously, the ability to exclude the organizer's calendar from the resulting time selection table was only available in the "Book me" feature.

We have added it to Time slots, allowing users to manually select available times in the organizer's calendar, even if they overlap with other engagements.

4. New Application Access type

Due to the retirement of RBAC Application Impersonation in Exchange Online it is no longer possible to log in via delegated authentication to accounts with impersonation permissions.

To facilitate a smooth transition from classic EWS Impersonation to Application Access and then to Graph, and to give admins more flexibility over user distribution and allocation, we implemented a new login type - Microsoft 365 OAuth (EWS API) App-Only logon. For more information about profiles connection types, see Managing Profiles via the Admin Panel.

Released on: May 6, 2024 (Fast prod environment)

2. Improved UX on the My Connectivity page

Improved user experience with the My Connectivity page: changed the wording for cases when a service (Salesforce, mail service, etc.) is not connected. The previous “Disconnected” wording was misleading for users who never connected a service and would create unnecessary concerns for users.

  • To see when the next sync session will run, select any email, open RG Email Sidebar, and hover over the Information icon in the Add-In next to the “Email isn’t saved” status to see the estimated time when the next sync will take place

  • If the email is already saved, hover over the Information icon in the Add-In next to the “Email is saved” status to see the approximate time of the next sync session and the objects to which the Email/Event will be saved in Salesforce (e.g., Lead, Opportunity, Contact)

Improved the tracking of unanswered emails: now, if you set a reminder for an email thread, additionally, a signal is automatically created. On the due date, you will get an email notification reminding you to follow up on an unanswered email in this email thread, as well as a signal in the RG Email Sidebar to ensure that this action is not omitted or missed. Learn more about [Revenue Signals] and how to [manage them in the Add-In].

5. Blocklisting is now available in the new RG Settings interface

Revenue Grid offers an automatic saving of Emails, Meetings/Appointments, and Contacts in Salesforce. • Different non-core Add-In functions (route components) are now loaded on-demand: Add-In cache selectively loads features when they are required by the user

  2. A Google Calendar Sync improvement. We implemented 2-way synchronization of recurring Google calendar Event series. Their syncing can be performed via color-coding or via Save button or by Autosync; syncing a single event in a series syncs the entire series.

3. Implemented RG Email Sidebar localization in Danish. Earlier also added Japanese and Chinese (Simplified). See this article for the full list of supported RGES UI languages

4. Revenue Engage email campaigns building improvement: implemented a Revenue Grid template selector in the Sidebar displayed next to campaign emails; the selector also applies templates to Email bodies in Compose / Reply mode in MS Outlook. In addition, users’ pre-configured Salesforce templates can be automatically added to Revenue Grid templates pool upon request

5. Based on several customers’ requests, implemented the optional possibility to auto-fill a pre-set text in the Body (Description) field in Time Slots / Book Me creation dialogs

6. Per a customer’s request, implemented the optional possibility to get new created Contacts’ Address field prefilled based on associated Account’s Address

7. We’ve implemented notifications on pending RGES Add-In updates which recommend the end users to restart the Add-In to apply an update

Regular update:

The mechanism can be enabled upon request

9. Per a customer’s request, implemented optional auto-deletion of users from RGES database as soon as they get removed from the customer’s Azure Active Directory. This feature only works for Orgs with MS Graph connection. It can be enabled upon request
