Replace Revenue Grid tabs in Lightning app navigation (for Salesforce admins)¶
Note
This article is intended for Salesforce administrators who manage app layouts across the org after upgrading the Revenue Grid managed package. If you’re looking for the end-user guide, see Replace Revenue Grid tabs in your Lightning app navigation (for end users).
If you upgraded the Revenue Grid managed package from version 1.83 or earlier to version 1.87 or later, the old Revenue Grid tabs added to your Salesforce apps may no longer work as expected. This is because version 1.87 introduces new widgets built with Lightning Web Components, which require updated tab references in Lightning apps.
This article explains how to remove the outdated Revenue Grid tabs and replace them with the new ones in the app navigation bar.
Important
Starting from version 1.87, Revenue Grid widgets are implemented using Lightning Web Components and Named Credentials. As a result, these widgets—and the entire Revenue Grid app, including its tabs—are available only in Salesforce Lightning Experience.
- If you’re using Salesforce Classic, we recommend switching to Lightning Experience to access all insights and functionality provided by the updated widgets.
- If you’re using Lightning Experience but still rely on Classic-based apps, do not replace existing widgets with the new ones. Instead, use the corresponding widgets available in the new Revenue Grid app, or create a custom Lightning app that supports the required functionality.
Prerequisites¶
- Salesforce Lightning Experience must be enabled.
- You must have the Salesforce Administrator profile or equivalent permissions.
- The Revenue Grid managed package must be upgraded to version 1.87 or later.
Step 1: Open the Lightning App Builder¶
-
In Salesforce, click the Setup gear icon in the top-right corner and select Setup.
-
In the Quick Find box, enter App Manager, and then click App Manager.
-
Find the app that contains the old Revenue Grid tabs, and from the dropdown arrow on the right side of the row, select Edit.
Step 2: Remove old Revenue Grid tabs¶
-
In the app settings menu, go to the Navigation Items section.
-
In the Selected Items list, locate any outdated Revenue Grid tabs (marked with “(Legacy)”), select them (A), and click the Remove (left arrow) button (B).
Step 3: Add new Revenue Grid tabs¶
- In the Available Items list, find the new Revenue Grid Lightning tabs you want to add, such as RG Pipeline, RG Forecast, etc.
-
Select the tab(s) (A), and click the Add (right arrow) button (B) to include them in the app navigation.
-
(Optional) Using the up and down buttons, arrange tabs in the navigation in the order you prefer.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
-
Click the Back (left arrow) icon to exit the Lightning App Builder.
Step 4: Verify the update¶
- Open the updated Lightning app from the App Launcher.
- Confirm that the new tabs appear in the navigation bar.
- Open each tab to verify that it loads correctly and displays the expected Lightning Web Components.
