Set up Salesforce widgets for RG reports with default filters (DynamicWidgetCmp)

You can set up RG reports widgets with default filter parameters. This means that whenever a user opens this widget, they see the data matching the configured filters.

To configure RG reports with default filters:

1. Configure filters

1.1. Open the necessary report. This feature is available for the following reports:

  • Accounts

  • Opportunities

  • Forecast Table

  • Pipeline Evolution

1.2. Use the Filter by field to set up the filtering parameters


1.3. Click the copy link icon. The link will be copied to the clipboard

1.4. Paste the copied link into the preferred text editor

1.5. Remove the part before “?filter=” of the link to preserve only the filters

2. Add the widget on the page

2.1. Switch to Lightning Experience, as described in this Salesforce article.

2.2. Go to the necessary page or app. For example, you can open the Revenue Grid app or the Contact, Lead, or Opportunity pages in Sales Console

2.3. Click the Gear (Setup Menu) icon in the upper right corner of the page

2.4. Select Edit Page in the menu

2.5. On the Lightning App Builder page, you can modify the page’s layout to include Revenue Grid widgets

2.6. In the search field in the left-hand side panel, enter DynamicWidgetCmp

2.7. Drag the widget from the left-hand-side panel to the central pane and drop it in the desired place



2.8. In the Widget type, select the necessary report. This feature is available for the following reports:

  • Accounts

  • Opportunities

  • Forecast Table

  • Pipeline Evolution


2.9. In the Widget filter field, paste the edited filter from step 1.5

2.10. Click Save to save changes

2.11. Click Activation to enforce the changes for the users

After taking these steps, you will see the RG report with default filters on the necessary page.

Tip

You can add multiple RG reports of the same type on a single page
