Provisioning users¶

Overview¶
To grant Salesforce users access to Revenue Grid solutions such as Email Sidebar and Sync Engine, you must provision them to a Profile in your organization’s Revenue Grid tenant.
Using the Revenue Grid Admin Panel, you can provision users individually or in bulk in just a few clicks.
How provisioning works¶
On the Provisioning page in the Admin Panel, you’ll see a list of active Salesforce users who haven’t been provisioned yet. From here, you can select and provision users in a few clicks.
Provisioning scenarios¶
User access to Email Sidebar and Sync Engine depends on the provisioning method used.
Provisioning scenario | Access to Sidebar | Access to Sync Engine | User action required |
---|---|---|---|
Fully impersonated (CRM + Mailbox impersonation) | Available immediately after installation | Runs automatically | No action required |
Semi-impersonated (CRM only) | Available immediately after installation | Requires mailbox authorization | Users must authorize mailbox access via the Sidebar or in Sync Settings |
Semi-impersonated (Mailbox only) | Users must log in with Salesforce credentials | Requires Salesforce authorization | Users must log in to the Sidebar with Salesforce credentials or authorize Salesforce access in Sync Settings |
Non-impersonated (No CRM or Mailbox impersonation) | Users must log in with Salesforce credentials | Requires both mailbox and Salesforce authorization | Users must log in to the Sidebar with both Salesforce and mailbox credentials or grant access during registration via the Registration Wizard |
Viewing the user list¶
On the Provisioning page, admins can see only Salesforce users who meet all of the following conditions:
- They have an Active status (User Management → Setup → Users → The “Active” checkbox is selected).
- They have not been provisioned to Revenue Grid.
- They fall within the admin’s access permissions in Salesforce.

FAQ¶
Why is the Sync Engine not working after provisioning? (Sync Status: Disabled)
If the Sync Engine is disabled after provisioning, the issue is likely due to the provisioning scenario used. Users may need to complete additional steps based on their assigned access type:
Provisioning Scenario | Reason for Disabled Sync | Required User Action |
---|---|---|
Fully impersonated (CRM + Mailbox impersonation) | Sync should start automatically. | No action required. If Sync is disabled, check profile settings and impersonation configuration. |
Semi-impersonated (CRM only) | The system does not have access to the user’s mailbox. | The user must authorize mailbox access via the Sidebar or Sync Settings. |
Semi-impersonated (Mailbox only) | The system does not have access to Salesforce. | The user must log in to the Sidebar with Salesforce credentials or authorize Salesforce access in Sync Settings. |
Non-impersonated (No CRM or Mailbox impersonation) | The system does not have access to Salesforce or the mailbox. | The user must log in to the Sidebar with both Salesforce and mailbox credentials or complete setup via the Registration Wizard. |
If the issue persists after completing the required actions, check the Sync Settings for errors or missing permissions. If further assistance is needed, please contact our support team.
