Manage Sidebar settings (user level)

Overview

Managing your Sidebar settings is simple and flexible. You can share your configuration with colleagues by exporting it to a file or adopt their setup by importing their settings file.

If your customization doesn’t meet your needs, you can easily reset the settings to the default state, ensuring a fresh start with the predefined configuration.

Export Sidebar settings

To share your Sidebar settings with another user, follow these steps to export your customization into a file:

  1. On the Objects page toolbar, click Manage settings.

  1. From the menu, select Export to a file.

  1. In the confirmation dialog, click Export.

  1. In the Save As dialog, select the location to save the file and click Save.

Your Sidebar settings will be saved in a file and ready to be shared with others.

Import Sidebar settings

To apply the same Sidebar settings as a colleague, you can import their customizations from a shared file:

  1. On the Objects page toolbar, click Manage settings.

  1. From the drop-down menu, select Import from a file.

  1. In the dialog, upload the file containing the settings:
    • Click Choose file, then select the file in the Open dialog and click Save.
    • Or drag and drop the file into the designated upload area.

  1. Click Import to load the settings.
  2. Click Save to apply the changes, then refresh the Sidebar.

After importing, the Sidebar will immediately reflect the settings configured in the imported file, ensuring your workspace is customized to your preference or aligns with your team’s standards.

Reset Sidebar settings to defaults

If you want to discard any recent changes to the Sidebar settings before saving, click the Undo button in the Objects page’s footer.

After clicking Save, changes cannot be undone, and the only way to revert settings is to use the Reset to defaults option. The default settings are predefined by Revenue Grid and customized by your local admin specifically for your RG Email Sidebar implementation.

Important

The Reset to defaults option resets both the Objects and Advanced settings you have modified.

To reset the Sidebar settings to defaults:

  1. On the Objects page toolbar, click Manage settings.

  1. Select Reset to defaults.

  1. In the confirmation dialogue, click Reset. Once the Sidebar settings are reset to defaults, they are saved automatically, so no additional action is needed.

  1. Refresh the Sidebar to apply the changes.
